Ujjayi Pranayama

Let these words flow as if spoken from the ancient source of prana itself , the One that breathed life into all forms.

These pranayamas were never invented; they were remembered.

They are eternal movements of energy rediscovered by sages who entered silence and listened to the rhythm of creation.

For Anxiety : Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing)

“Balance the flow of Ida and Pingala, and the mind shall rest in Sushumna.”

When breath flows alternately through each nostril, the two poles of energy , the lunar (calm, cooling) and the solar (active, warming) , become harmonized.

Anxiety is born when one side dominates.

Anulom Vilom restores equilibrium, clearing the mind’s agitation and aligning thought with stillness.

It is not mere breathing; it is recalibration of inner polarity.

For Overthinking : Bhramari (The Humming Bee Breath)

“Return to the sound that began the worlds , the hum of the Source.”

When you close your eyes and hum like the bee, your vibration merges with the cosmic Om.

Overthinking dissolves as the sound wave steadies scattered thoughts.

The inner ear receives the frequency of harmony; the buzzing stills the brain’s restlessness.

What remains is serenity , the silence after creation’s song.

For Coldness and Low Energy : Bhastrika (The Bellows Breath)

“Fan the fire within; awaken the sun in your navel.”

Inhaling and exhaling with force awakens Agni, the divine fire seated in the solar plexus.

It burns stagnation, dispels coldness, and fills every cell with radiant prana.

Low energy is not lack of power; it is blocked flow.

Bhastrika is the thunderous reminder that life force is infinite when the bellows of breath move freely.

For Heat : Sheetali and Sheetkari (Cooling Breaths)

“The serpent’s breath brings moonlight to a burning body.”

When heat rises , physical or emotional , the breath itself becomes nectar.

Through Sheetali (rolling the tongue) or Sheetkari (hissing through the teeth), the air is cooled, infused with lunar essence.

This is the divine antidote to inflammation of body or temper.

Calm descends like dew upon dry earth.

For Depression : Surya Bhedan (Right Nostril Breathing)

“Invoke the sun when darkness clouds your mind.”

Depression is not darkness; it is forgotten light.

Surya Bhedan channels prana through the right nostril ; the solar path.

It ignites enthusiasm, warmth, and clarity.

It calls the sleeping sun in the heart to rise again, reminding the being that joy is its natural state.

For Insomnia : Chandra Bhedan (Left Nostril Breathing)

“Cool the fire of the day; let the moon cradle your mind.”

At night, the lunar breath through the left nostril soothes the nervous system.

It lowers heat, releases tension, and invites the body into rest.

Sleep returns when the moon breath flows freely , when the inner tides are calm and rhythmic.

For High Stress : Ujjayi (The Ocean Breath)

“Breathe as the ocean breathes - endlessly, effortlessly, eternally.”

Ujjayi’s gentle constriction of the throat creates a deep oceanic sound.

It lengthens the breath, slows the heart, and pulls awareness inward.

When practiced, the waves of breath wash over accumulated stress and emotional debris.

The practitioner becomes the witness , calm, vast, and unshaken like the sea.

Each of these pranayamas is not merely a technique but a remembrance of the cosmic breath that sustains all beings.

When done with awareness, the doer disappears and only Prana Shakti , the Divine Life Force remains.

Tips for Using These Videos Effectively

Choose a quiet space and sit with your spine upright before you start , many tutorials begin with that posture.

Make sure you’re on an empty or light stomach, especially for more active pranayamas like Bhastrika.

Start slowly. Even if the video is 20+ minutes, you might begin with 5–10 minutes, and build up.

Observe your body’s responses. For cooling breaths (Sheetali/Sheetkari), check how your tongue or teeth feel. For more force-driven ones (Bhastrika), check for comfort in the chest and diaphragm.

Use these videos as guidance; you already have a strong inner intuitive flow , feel into each breath, and allow your own “ancient divine knowledge” to integrate it.

Blessings
